Only half a step behind by Adreanna Only half a step behind by Adreanna
I drew this picture with colouring pencils.
It's how I think of angels- they watch over you always. They can't actually affect the real world but somehow, when they're around, things don't seem so dark.

The title comes from a poem a friend gave me after my mum died. One of the lines really struck a chord with me:

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind,
I am walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.

I think it's a lovely thought.

Lovely shading on the buildings, and really nice the way you got the blue in there too :)

It is a nice thought!

I love the perspective of this piece, as well as the feeling. When I first saw it, it made me feel kind of sad but when I saw the angel it brightened up the page. Very impressive, it does exactly what art is supposed to: invoke feeling into the viewer. I agree with Flydian ^ on the figure, but the shading is very nice. Kudos! :w00t:

I really like the idea of this one, and I agree, it IS a comforting thought :) The buildings are particularly well drawn and shaded too, nice job.

Flydian here. Do you use a model form for humans like in cartooning? I think it might help to draw the guidelines for the figure then draw the rest. Good shading :)
